Dear Local Boston,
City Fresh, like other Boston local small production companies and their employees are under intense pressure to remain as residents and operators in the City of Boston where we work and provide services. Real estate development has expanded into neighborhoods that were once deemed insecure and undesirable, by up market developers. These neighborhoods have traditionally been where small long term Boston companies operated and working residents lived.
It is in this climate of inner city companies being gentrified that we are proposing to develop a green innovative business land cooperative. Ultimately, this is an economic development project that will sustain, grow and educate the community. We are pushing for the preservation of light manufacturing companies and trade jobs in the city of Boston. The land will be held in trust for local businesses at an affordable cost creating stability and opportunity for growth. We have submitted our proposal for the Former State Hospital Grounds (Mattapan) owned by the State Department of Asset Management ( DCAM), and we hope that you can come out and support us.
Please join and/or circulate this page to Mattapan institutions and residents who are interested in preserving and creating jobs, land preservation, and community participation and ownership.
We present to the Advisory Council February 6th at 6 PM at Edward Brooke Charter High School.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Sheldon Lloyd
